Sorry in advance for the length of this.
After almost a year of care and feeding for 3 pair and numerous baby bangers, I've decided to scale back a little on the fish side of things. Well that, and my upcoming travel schedule isn't going to allow me the time needed to continue breeding them properly so....
I've have been asked by a few members from time to time about obtaining Banggais so I thought I would throw these up here first and see if anyone is still interested. I believe the pricing is fair based on what you typically pay at the LFS but let me know if you think otherwise. Last thing I want to do is tork someone off in the group. Also, I would be willing to do some trading for SPS or Zoos, depending on what you have to offer.
Here is what I have available:
1. Mated pair, 1 1/2 years old (?), paired from 2 different sources. Started producing about 6 months ago and have produced faithfully every month. A couple of notes. the male decided yesterday was the day to start holding so if someone wants the pair, we'll have to work something out on delivery. Also, the male of this pair has a damaged pec fin (looks broken at the body joint) but it has never effected his ability to swim and breed (lived in my
SPS tank for a while with lots of current). He typically just holds the fin up against his body. $60 for the pair.
Still available
2. I have another pair ( a little larger maybe 2 years old) that is definately a pair but the male has not held to term yet (2 tries). I paired them a few months ago from different sources and I believe this is an issue of an environment change. No guarantees though, sorry. $40 for the pair.
Sold to kjdeut
3. I have 7 babies that are about 6 months old. Probably about 1/2 - 2/3 the size that you would normally see at the LFS. All from the same parents so you probably would not want to breed them. $15 each and see #4 below.
4 pending to MNGirl
2 pending to JG24
1 sold to Wildpraire
4. I have a larger juvenile non paired (male I THINK) and 5 small babies (about 3 months old). All from different parents than group #3. Think 3/4" - 1" here for the babies. All have been eating
frozen mysis since they were about 20 days old. The babys need to be placed into a passive tank until they get bigger. $5 each. If anyone is interested in #3, you may want to pick up 1 or 2 of these and hope for a pair, just an idea.
1 baby and juvenile sold to Wildpraire
2 babies sold to Manderson
2 babies still available
Thats it. Let me know if anyone is interested. If you've gotten this far, thanks for reading all of this.
