Question

Aquascaping

So i'm looking at my tank, and i realize i need to redo my aquascaping (and i'll need to get more LR too, so if you have some fully cycled drop in tank stuff, i'll search you out). But i have little idea on how/what.

BUT i realize i have little idea what to do. I dont like the look of just stacking from bottom to top and making "shelves" although that appears to be common.

I was wondering what you guys did? Do you use underwater glue/apoxy?

Drill and Rods?

You should be able to use the search in our forum to find plenty of aquascaping tips/tricks as this has been a hot topic in the past.

With epoxy only you really can't do much more than the stacking method as the expoxy itself can't hold that well plus it would take a whole lot of expoxy and would cost an arm and a leg.

Since your the one asking, I'd rather you search than me type.

However gladly answer specific questions.......

If you get the right drill bit, drilling the rock should be pretty easy, Once you get started it's not that bad and will probably have fun doing it. Of course the more you do the better you get at it but don't feel intimidated. Just come up with a rough draft of what you want it to look like beforehand. Usually can stick with the plan pretty well unlike the stacking method. Lay all your rock out so you can see the shapes good and put that puzzle together.

Best to drain the tank and you move your livestock to a holding tank if this is not for a new tank. Trying to do it with the tank full and critters and water in there will make it take 10 times longer.
