I would go bigger than that on a 125. Look into a 8-3 I believe you can never skim enough. Best to do it before you set up your tank I wish I would have.

I think ERs are underrated, contrary to most skimmers. Huge fan here, not really impressed with the AqCs. I had a es5-3 on a 90g SPS when the cs6-2 was down, and it kicked arse. Now I have both on a 120g.
It'll do fine if the bioload isn't huge, esp if you skim wet(2 cups per week) with a gate valve addition. If you plan on making the 125 into an SPS tank, then you'll have to dish out some $ and get a bigger ER, like a cs6-2 @ 24 tall, or even better, a cs6-3 @ 30" I think.

Well I have teh satandard remora with MJ1200 on my 90, it works. But I figure in the 125 I'll need to get another, or a whole different skimmer.

So what about ASM, I understand they are just about just as good, just made differently. Which ASM would be good for a 125?

I had an ASM skimmer on my 75 for a few weeks.. They are acrylic.. They are extruded acrylic instead of cell cast. And also much thinner material. They are pretty thin and I could see how it would be easy to break it. But you would just have to be careful. Worked great though. I am thinking about an aquaC remora. But that's for a 15 gallon desktop tank, lol. I wouldn't even think about it on anything bigger then like a 30 though.
