add pump, skimmers went crazy. so what u guy do before addin the new pump?

i bough a new pump for returnin. i let it run in the bucket of water for a day. i hook it up today. then my skimmers went crazy on me. every 15 mins 1 full collector. not just 1, both of them went crazy. so i think maybe something comes out the new pump i added. so what are u guys do before addin the new pump???

Never done anything to a pump before adding it to the tank so I can't say. never had a new pump cause a skimmer to go nuts either. My guess is that there is some kind of chmical on the pump from manufacturing that is causing the skimmer to go nuts.

Do a water change, throw some carbon in and let it skim wet.

carbon already in. and did a 10g water change half hour's ago.
now it seem clam down a bit. but still goin on...
quiet one seem a bit cheesey. yeah just like it's name quiet. but rate 1000+, and did a worse job than a mag 9.5. way worse.

I'd maybe do another water change tomorow if it's still acting up...
