A bad day, need to vent :(

Last week I traded my Green Carpet Anemone for a Rose Bulb. It has been doing great. My Clowns took a day to move in. Today I woke up and couldn't find it in my tank, I figured it just went back into the rock work. My fiance came home and she noticed that it hadn't hid away that low and behold it detached, floated and got sucked in to our surface skimmer. I shed a few tear's when I had to pick him out of it and flush him away.

Kassun,

that really bites. Not that it will make you feel any better but the Zoo's and Candy Canes that I got from you are doing really well.

Are you for sure it was dead ? RBTA can be pretty tough...... I have ripped it along the side all the way through the mouth, and have had them get sucked intot the powerheads before and survive..... In both cases they looked really bad at first but made it.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Anemones are alot tougher than you would think. I saw a green carpet get ripped in half by a PH, we gave it a lugols dip and it is still alive today. Also, I think I read somewhere that the are taking BTA and cutting them in half for propagation.

World of Fish has one for $59.99. It looked real nice. That's the place we met to do the trade the other night. How's the colt frag doing? Mike

thanks for the heads up Mike. I am going to wait till tomorrow afternoon, because the guy in Mankato is picking up his weekly shipment and his are usually around 40 or less if he gets a good deal on them. The frags are doing great. I'll take a pic and post it tomorrow.

Thanks,
Kassun
