450G Progress Pics

I thought I would start a new thread about the new tank since we close on the house next Friday. As many of you know from the meeting at my place, we had the house up for sale. No buyer, but we did end up finding a renter.

New tank will be 72"L X 48"D X 30"T. I will build it myself from 1" acrylic. The tank will be built into a basement wall. The stand will be steel. I will have a walkway on the sides of the tank so I will be able to access the tank easily. The canopy will be on a pulley system so I can elevate the canopy if I am working on the tank.

Lighting will be a total of 8 400W MH's (4 XM 20K's and 4 Ushio 10K's) and 6 Actinic VHO's

I will have a frag tank next to the system that will be 48"L X 18"D X 14"T (approx. 52G)

Here is a picture showing the beginning stages of the planning...

Greg

That large opening is the sump pump for the house. There is another regular drain to the left for the air conditioner.

I won't be able to make it to tomorrow's meeting because we will be shopping all day. This house closing sort of came unexpectedly and now we have to rush to get everything set up. Our renter does not move in till August 1st so we have some time to fully move, but a lot of preparations must be made.

And in the meantime, I have a stand to build, a tank to build, a sump to build, etc...

Sweet!

So if you're totally in by August we can all expect the September meeting to be at your new place, right?
