400w Ballast, 175w bulb?
My dad has a few 400w MH ballasts laying around and I was wondering if I could use a 175w bulb with that ballast?

I don't think so i think it would blow up the bulb.

For MH, The mogul socket is are the only part that is interchangable between 175,250,400.
Both ballasts/bulb must match.

it is a Cooper Industries Lumark, Model # MHSS-M-400-MT-U
I talked to my dad, I have access of up to four of them, I would be willing to work that out, if you are interested.

All you would have to do is remote mount the ballast and mount the socket and your set. |

Here is the one I took home with me today, I already started to take it apart for remote mounting of the socket
It is in pretty good shape, used for about 2 months in my moms printing shop, and they have sitting on a shelf for about a year, I could make a stainless box for it and get it all ready to go, if you are interested. |
