1st water tests since startup
Well tank has been running a little over 2 months and now that the tank has nuclear green water and some diatoms brewing I decided it might be close to ready So this morning I did a few water test and came up with :
NO2 0
PO4 0
NO3 about 5
Ca 340
Alk 9.0
Mag 1050
PH 8.0-8.3
I made some major adjustment since I have no live critters yet.
raised my Ca to 400 and Alk to 10 and Mag to 1150 in a matter of 6 hrs. I will raise mag to 1300 over the next couple day.
I also have a 60g WC brewing to get my NO3 down a bit faster.
So since all lvls are within acceptable range I am gonna order my 1st cleanup crew from Reeftopia.com.
Finally something live to look at
Just had to share, I know just boring stuff so far but...
Later,
Casey

Ok, sounds good. I did some accidental fragging during some tank maintenance (yes, a water change was included), so I have a couple "frag rocks" which have your name on them.

I can vouch that he had the make up water all ready to go... indicating that a definate water change was in the works...

I have even amazed myself on that point but I made made my plans and have basically stuck with them this time. Procrastination has also helped as that setting up has taken longer than I originally planned. Still have a couple things left that I have been putting off. One of them being installing my chiller. Haven't really had a need yet... But would like to keep temp flucuations to less than 1 degree. Also still no actinics or moonlight.
Anyway you sure could help in a couple months by selling me a couple frags Since I have nothing to trade at the moment

Derek, Maybe this is selfish since I just saw your tank, but you should post pics AFTER the your meeting. A lot of people who were at your meeting in Nov. will be amazed at the progress if they see it in person.
