?????'s on RO systems
What is the best RO system?
We don't have horrible water, I don't need a lot so one of the smaller units would work fine for me (ie 24 gpd)
What are the opinions on the Coralife Pure-Flo II?
thanks

I am using a 110gpd RODI system that I bought on ebay. TDS is 0 with it and I have terrible water in Woodbury. I believe that the name of the company was filter direct. The best from what I hear is spectrapure but the system I bought gets the water to 0 tds so IMO the extra money is not needed for a spectrapure RODI.

If your water is ok or bad it will come out the same with DI. You will use more DI up if your water is bad. There are lots of good systems out there. Without getting a pressure pump and a heater to make sure the temp is right on the water, assume you will get a lot less GPD than it says you will. Think about how much water you want, really, and how fast you want to be able to get it.
RO membrains are not equal. always get the one rated SLOWER. its slower because it filters better. The DI picks up everything the membrain does not get, that costs more money.
Another thing is do you want to use it for fish only or for yourself too? DI water is TOO CLEAN for human consumption. With the fish we are mixing it with salt and such. But with us it strips out our goodies from our cells. So you want a unit that can bipass the DI when you want drinking water.
I got mine from airwaterice.com I am happy with their service. I purchaced the eskimo which is the no frills 2 membrain unit. With two 75gallon membrains, I bet I can't actually get 100g a day.

go here http://www.dervich.com/reef/ or with Filter Direct your goal is to get 0 TDS. There is a lot of Horse C**# that goes with RO/DI water machines. The guys who charge more will tell you they have better customer service. If they were selling a good product you won't need customer service. Most RO/DI makers produce about 3/4 to 1/2 there rated production so get one in the 85 to 110 GPD rating. Buy a 5 or 6 stage unit.

airwaterice.com here! i love mine. They thought of everything as far as somone who knows nothing about these things to get them setup. They made it so easy to install and use!! Also you can get a few different added things with it for a good price.. i.e. a TDS meter... I hightly recommend owning a TDS meter if you are going to have RO or RODI water. "Customr Service" IS GREAT! Please note... no problems with the unit, but I called in to ask some questions. To me no matter how good a product is there is always a chance something could go wrong... that is why good customer service is a must.

Ya I called to figure out things when I was trying to make a decision on which unit to get! They spent a lot of time explaining the parts and which unit comes with what. I didn't get a poor or broken unit!

$55 for customer service is a little pricy in my book but to each his own.
