Double flush, especially if you have children. The fish sometimes gets stuck in the U trap if you don't make the second flush. It can be disquieting if it floats back in while you are away.....

The plastic inverted bottle trick always works!! Ive caught many a critters this way, using an inverted 2 liter. Just this week I removed a dottyback and a coral cat. Now they live in my refugium. They swim in but can't swim out. Poke a string through the plastic so you can pull it up fast when he swims in, just in case he is smart enough to find his way out!!

I am in the process of trying to get 4 damsels and a chromis out of my tank.... The yellow damsel are too darn smart for the bottle.....they swim in and out w/ lightning speed. Does anyone sale a speargun for home aquariums?

Go fishing.I am not kidding.Use a tiny hook like a #24 one uses in making a trout fly of an ant.Put on a bit of frozen shrimp or something with a really thin tippet and you can catch them one at a time and relocate them.
