I think the better question is --- How do you remove Xenia from LR killing it at the same time ???

Check out www.garf.org. They have a lesson on video on xenia propagation. All you need is a blade, frag plug and bridal veil (cheap at wal-mart). Just snip out the tops of the xenia, place on a rock and wrap with the veil and tie off with a rubber band. It will look bad at first but within a few weeks you should have a frag to trade. You can also do this with mushrooms just make sure when you cut you leave a stub of the orignal stalk so it can grow a new cap.

Hope this helps

If you are going for completely removing all traces of it, try carefully pulling it away from the rock with a large pair of tweezers. I have had Xenia grow back from the tinyest peice of tissue left on the rock.

Another method for attaching the frag is to use needle and thread. Just poke through the 'foot' of the frag and wrap the thread around a small piece of rock with the part of the frag you want to attach snug against the rock. It will attach itself in 4-6 days or so, then clip the thread and carefuly pull it out.
