WTB: Anyone have a SCWD (Squid) they want to get rid of?...

Been checking into how I'm going to set up the flow in my new 54G corner... I'd like to give one of these a shot, but I'd like to try to get it local before I order one online...

Anyone using one I'd like some feedback on them as well... I'll be running it on my return which is being pushed by a Rio 2100... At 4 ft of head, it looks like I'll have about 400 gph going throgh it... Just wondering if 400 gph is going to make it cycle faster than I need it too...

Thanks,
David

I was looking into other options for switching flow and found this http://www.reefonline.com.au/shop/pr...roducts_id=150 on the SCWD. The times seem a bit high from what I remember, though, but I never did actual timing tests. Maybe I'll do a few tests of my own.

I used one with a Iwaki 30 series pressure pump on a 75 and loved it. People talk about them breaking and being crappy. Near as I could find, those people were jamming alot of water through one which I don't think it's engineered to handle. It's quiet. No electronics. Cheap.

I fully plan to re-use it on my 37 when I get it up and running.

Thanks for the link George... Looks promising-I'll probably be at 10-12 secs between right to left or vice versa... 20-24 secs per cycle...

If anyone has one they want to get ride of, let me know... Just found them on Sam's site (Aquabuys)-It's a hell of a drive, but Sam's a good guy... I could use some Roti-Feast anyway...

I saw a post over at nano-reef where I guy had disected his broken scwd. He was able to fix it and retro fit it so it accepted pvc fittings.

I have one or I should say 2. One is my off my dad's tank we took down last year.

Mine is on a 37 gallon tank running off a Mag 7 pump. I like the concept and they are less $ than the alternates that are out there. I started a tread on any forum yesterday and found out that it reduces your flow by 25% and goes up from there as the pump size goes up. I have been happy with mine. No issues etc.

If you want one let me know.
