Who's up for a Group Aquacultured Acro buy at CBA?

Often, we get caught up in the mentality that the "grass is greener on the other side," so we order stuff on-line. I know it happens to me. However, we have an awesome store (CBA) that carries some of the best aquacultured acros I've seen.

I spoke with Bobby and asked him to cut us a deal if we were to organize enough interest to do a group purchase of aquacultured acros. He said that he's all for it, so if anyone is interested let me know. Obviously, the more interest we generate the better deal we'll get - don't know the specifics yet - just wanted to guage the interest level.

How will we determan who gets what piece?
Or do we just all meet at CBA and while one of us holds Bobby down the others force there way past Wendy?

Realy, how would this buy work??

ya, that would be all great but like he said its kinda hard to gauge who will get what. Esp with Acros being so varied in size and price. How about if u spend like $294.... u get 1/2 off

No doubt specifics will have to be worked out.

One option would be to purchase multiple colonies and frag them for distribution.

Another option would be to see how much overall volume the group would generate and get a flat discount.

While there may be some flexibility in structuring the discount, we'll have to work with Bobby to clarify the parameters. Otherwise, this idea may not make sense or may be too wieldy to effectively manage.

I'll discuss options with him and we'll see what we can do.

Utimately, the goal for me is to create buying power and save money. Additionally, the vendor benefits by turning over inventory and generating cash flow.

I would be game. I think Tim could hold down Bobby and Jeff.

Or the fragging part. Just split a coral. I saw some on Reefer madness that looked cool but I typically ask bobby or one of the other sponsors if they can get that coral. (Normally bobby is the only one that can). I am really iffy about internet coral purchasing or livestock. I likes to see it before I buy.

One other note - let's not focus on potential problems/negatives. Problems are easy to fix. Starting with the impression that something is not doable is more difficult to turnaround.

So, let's assume we can make it happen. How many would be interested?

One thing that I've got nailed down:

If you've been there recently, you probably saw approximately 20 browned-out acros. Bobby thinks this was due to a new holding tank/high temperature issue that has now been resolved. Anyway, all of those acros used to be blue, green and purple. They are available to us for $45. With adequate lighting and high water quality, they should color back up.

As far as another option for the other acros, after seeing how much interest we have, I'll get with Bobby to see what we can work out.

why not do the order through cba and let bobby and jeff divide and distribute the order to those that ordered...this keeps the splitting out of our greedy little paws and lets cba take all the responcibility for divying out the order......i am interested in getting in on it. i am only interested in captive raised .i dont want any split wild colonies...
