white patch on purple tang

My otherwise healthy purple tang has a white patch on one side down below the jaw gill area. I assumed when it started that it was a scuff mark from running into a rock cave but the area has gotten a little bit larger over the last few weeks. any ideas? rest of body has nice color, eats well.

does it seem stressed in other ways? acting franticly or anything? sometimes fish can change color when aggitated and get spotty like that, not sure about the purple tang though.

Our regal tang gets faded out spots all the time, but they usually go away soon after the lights turn on. But if he spends too much time behind the rocks he will get them too. But we have never had a spot really last more than a few hours.

seems ok, just checked and the spot location at the jaw area is normal looking, but the white spot is now about an inch further back on the side, so I guess he just likes to have a polka dot for the heck of it. thanks
