Where to find IV drip tubing with drip valve locally

Hello again everyone:

I am looking to make a DIY kalk doser, and I was wondering were I can find UV lines with drip valves locally.

I went to several pharmacies on my lunch break, and all except for one did not carry them. The one pharmacy that did told me I would need a prescription to purchase an "IV administration kit."

Am I asking for the right item? Do you really need a prescription to by an IV dosing line with a drip valve? As always any comments, suggestions, and thoughts are welcome!

Well....it is medical so there are a lot of rules and laws that go along with medical supplies.

I got my GF's mom to get me a couple from the hospital. Other than knowing someone who has access to them I dont know...Kent makes one, same thing you can get from the LFS or an online vendor....and I think it is around $10 for one

I was looking for the same thing and called my sister (a nurse at a local hospital) and she said they'd be difficult to get. I'd suggest getting one from Kent. Actually, if you want I'm looking to trade or sell my big Kent Doser (want a small one) - just too big for a 7 gal nano tank.

Good luck,
Chris

Trying to get the materials for a DIY drip doser sort of reminds me of trying to get Southdown; seemingly simple in concept, yet suprisingly difficult in reality....maybe I'll just go ahead and get a Kent doser.

...But if anyone knows where I can get an IV dripper (legally) let me know, because it seems that 1/2 the fun in this hobby is all the DIY you can do!

Ask and thou shall receive

I happen to have a brand new (well new in the box, but 5 years old) one you can have - no charge..... This is just the IV line and valve system...you'll need to provide the bag or bucket.

It helped to have a few nurse friends.....

JLMK how you want to get it, etc....

Good luck - Dale

I'm gonna have to train you all some more
if you need medical stuff, just let me know.
You can come by the clinic to pick it up or I can bring it to meetings.

"Bake Sale" Idea

Group buy for scalpels, IV drip tubes, and Southdown; ARC's version of a "bake-sale"
