What LFS carries sea hares?
Does anybody know of LFS here in Atlanta that carries Sea Hares? I am battling hare algea and a few others. I heard that these little guys do wonders.
Thanks,
Doug

My Bicolor Blenny during the early stages of my tank (when I had significant hair algae), cleaned it up in 2-3 days.

you have to get seahorses at a certain time of the year really. and u cant have much current in the tank at all or slightly aggresssive fish that will harm him. I had one in a nano for a while, but once he went into my 55g reef, my tang messed him up eventually. I dont think its ur best bet for an algae eater. get a lawnmower blenny

Got mine at CBA. Never saw him again after the 2nd day. I think like all nudibranchs, they are pretty short lived in the aquarium. IMO, I'd avoid.

I got a seahare from CBA also.
The problem with seahares is they require a lot of algae to survive.
Usually after they eat through your algae problem, they then starve and die.
I'd recommend a few mexican turbos. They are great algae eaters, cost less and usually survive after the initial algae outbreak.
Cheers
Mike

sea hares are totally different and unrelated to seahorses.

I've bought them from Imagine Ocean. I see one of them once or twice a month.

Algae supply is not a problem in this tank! I have hair and red algae and caulerpa (I hate this stuff). The tank is too small for a Fox Face or Tang. I have read some good things about Sea Hares. I am also restocking the snails, emerald carbs and hermits.

I have a seahare in my 10 gallon nano and it's just awesome. He just grazes all the rock and sides of the tank without bothering or knocking anything down. I only see him every once in a while though. I bought a small one about the size of a quarter from Marine Fish. I've seen some larger ones at Optimum Aquarium too.
