What type of lighting? Clams are dependant on good intense lighting and an established stable tank.

With a 250 over a 30 you have plenty of light for any type of clam.

sweet deal, but I know some clams grow a lot bigger than others, which one stays at a moderate size? I dont want anything getting too large for my tank. Thanks again.

Crocea and Maxima grow very slowly and will not out grow a 30G. Gigas grow more quickly. I am not an expert but have read alot about clams. I added my Crocea and Squamosa only after my tank had been up and stable for about 7 months. Anyone else have an opinion?

imo, crocea are a good choice for that size tank... you'd never have to remove them, and it is always a good idea to let the tank establish before adding sensitive inverts...

Squamosa, Derasa, and Gigas will all take up the real estate real quick.

I agree with the Crocea or Maxima.
