Weakining silicon

I have to replace a panel in a 35 hex. I have the replacement panel but I need to remove the trim without breaking it. Does anyone know if a heatgun would weaken the silicon enought to pull the trim off?

there is a caulk dissolving stuff at HD. you can usually find it in the bath tile caulk area. just apply it and wait. i have never used it but i would try it. i replaced the rims on my 135 and just cut the silicone loose, slowly applied pressure and they cam off.
