You need to purchase an RO/DI unit to remove phosphates and chlorine from your water. You might check your local fish store to see if they sell RO/DO water, but in the end it is a lot less expensive to make it yourself. Check out our sponsors like the Filter Guys and they can set you up.

You really want to avoid putting yout tap water in there. Get an ro/di unit and a large trash can. Filling your tank with tap water that hasn't been run through an ro/di unit can lead to a myriad of problems.

tap is full of chlorines to start. plus a bunch more crap. def go with Ro/Di water. a cheap unit ($100) will be better than a tank of dead rock and sand and whatever else in there.

To avoid "so i WON'T HAVE A HEADAKE", definitely take the advise of the previous answers and use RO/DI. It's the best proactive precaution you can take!
