Wanted to introduce myself
Greetings and salutations everyone...
I have been lurking around this forum for a while and it just occured to me that I should introduce myself.
I am relatively new to salt water fish keeping, having spend much of my time training Standardbred race horses and Polish Arabians in NY. Fish seem to be equally as gratifying, without the fear of being kicked, bitten, or thrown
I just bought a 55 gal. tank and stand from Atlanta Aquaria and am piecing together a FOWLR system, though eventually I will be getting corals, etc.
I was meaning to get to the March 8th meeting, but that was the night the tank was being delivered...
I will make sure I am at the next meeting.
Ciao for now,
David

I've noticed you "lurking" around. Feel free to participate and ask questions about your new setup.
Consider joining the club to get discounts at local stores. It'll help alot since you're setting up a tank.

Thanks Pam!
I will certainly be participating a bit more and joining the club. Tank and stand set me back considerably (as well as the dining room set i just bought
I am just glad there are places like this forum to get advice and information. Putting all this together is a daunting task at times.

Welcome,
I guess, after reading that, I should introduce myelft as well. I joined ARC about a month ago and was able to attend this month's meeting and meet several people.
I have been in the saltwater hobby for about 16 years now. It was all down hill when I won a goldfish at a carnival and spent all my money on a 10 gallon tank and several fish...of course, the next day the gold fish was dead. Soon after I got my first salt water tank and about 3 years ago began with my reef.
There is never a dull moment...
As for my login name... I have used this ever since the internet started b/c I am also sort of a Star Wars aficionado... anyhow... That's who I am.

Welcome! You are getting a better start than most by getting advice here.
Fishmonger, actually if you aren't an ARC member yet, and you bought the tank from Atlanta Aquaria, ask Chris for a free ARC membership (for 2005) form. Its a new program we started this year. I sent the forms out in Feb to all sponsors who sell tanks.
Regards,
Chris
