Turboflotor help

I got a Turboflotor 1000 multi for Christmas to setup on the side of my sump. I set everything up like I thought is should be and plugged it in. The problem is that it seems to be pumping too much. It is filling up the collection cup with just water pretty quickly. I don't know how to adjust it or whether I am doing something wrong. Does anyone who has this setup have any insight? I did have to cut the plastic tubing to make it the right length. Please help....

I'm not familiar with this skimmer but if you'll post your question in the General Reef Discussion forum there's a better chance of someone familiar with the skimmer seeing it.

Have you adjusted the two knobs on the top where the water outputs are?

I have one of these, and I've found that the ocean runner pump that they bundle it with is a little too powerful. I removed the water adjustment knobs, and it still overflowed the collection cup within minutes. The best solution I've found is to get a good quality air valve, something that will allow some fine adjustment. Place that on the air intake and use it to limit the air flow into the skimmer until the foam reaches the bottom of the collection cup. After the skimmer breaks in some, you should be able to open the air intake a little more.

Are you getting any bubbles at all in the chamber at all? or is it just pumping out water? The AquaB is a great pump but on a couple of those skimmers that we set up they did the same thing. We fiddled with it a bit and got it to work. In theses cases the pump didn't draw any air in through the airline and actually spit water out of it. If you are near Athens we can show you how to fix it, if not I'll get back to you on a few more specifics.
