The Living Reef Trip

Just made it back - it was a lot of fun. I came back with a nice blue ridge coral, and Margi got some peppermint shrimps and some zoos. The Living Reef is a great store if you get out that way - incredibly clean set-up, great corals and fish - from a large selection for nano tanks to larger show pieces. Very good presentation on making rock.

Thanks Ray for setting this one up.

Very nice and wonderful selection of colorful corals and fish too! I got several SPSs and zoos and a very cool Scribble Rabbitfish.

Thanks Ray for arranging the trip out there!

I picked up three fish: two tangs and a pygmy angel. All are doing well. I think adding a group helped prevent any single fish from getting picked on continuously. They all went after the Marine Spectrum pellets even though I thought tangs were herbivores. The beautiful green colt coral is just plain pink in my tank; I guess that is the change from 1000 watt 20K lighting. The shop deserves a lot of praise for the obvious success at water quality; there was not a sick looking coral or fish anywhere [except for one glazed eye that came in from the wholesaler that way & has become a family pet]. I enjoyed the trip and Rachael knew more about the animals than myself or most ARC members. Several people were surprised to find someone young so astute. I was told they plan to stay in Rainbow City for at least another year so I suggest you try to visit, the prices & variety were worth the transit time.
