Thanks Cap Bay and ARRRGH!!!
Thanks Cap Bay for hosting one of the best club meetings EVER!
And to top it off, I won the Rose Anemone! I put it in one of my systems last night and everything looked good.... This evening when I got back from work it was gone. I found it in my overflow along with bits of it in my sump. I fished it out and put it back in the tank. It has about 1/4 of the tenticals it had in the tank at Cap Bay but they inflated normally. Will it pull through???

I vote it will pull through....although - fix/block whatever let the thing get in the overflow in the first place. He'll migrate there again after he heals up. I've had an anemone go through all the way to the sump three days in a row!! Every time I rescued him, he would make his way to the same spot and go through again. You cannot control where they will wander. I used some nylon mesh made to keep leaves out of gutters that I found at Lowes around the overflow, and that solved the problem. He is still alive and kickin, years later.

Sorry to hear about the anemone. But it should be fine. I have heard many many stories about anemones getting sucked up by power heads or going into overflow boxes. More than half the time the anemones seem to make it through it and do fine. Just make sure he doesnt get any type of infection.

Blender what did you use to secure the mesh to your overflow?

Usually small tie-straps from Home Depot or Lowes attached to the overflow teeth works fine. Just make sure they are entirely make from plastic AND do NOT contain any copper or metal where the strap goes through the "eye"/restrainer.
Anthony Calfo mentioned that rose anemones are hardy and through your problem discovered that they can be propagated through fragmentation.
Good luck with it!

I would take the bits and see if they turn into baby btas. I used aquarium glue and acrylic screening for my pipefish tank.

Interesting, I use this EXACT same stuff to cover my overflow and attached it in the same manner. I just cut it so that it was a bit bigger than the opening, so that once I zip-tie it to the overflow teeth, the back part gets tucked under the top plastic edge of the tank.
Works wondefully to keep snails, fish, starfish and anemones from making their way into the overflow

Thanks for the words of encouragement! How can I keep it from getting infected?
It looked about the same tonight. As least it stayed in the same place!

I didn't really need to secure it...
It's hard to explain, but the things Lowes had were sections of nylon mesh with a 'U' shaped chanel molded into one side. The chanel just snapped over the glass. I am sure the chanel was supposed to fit over part of your gutter or shingle and secure it in place. The whole section was about 3 feet long. The U-shape fits perfectly over ~1/2 inch glass or acrylic with no modification other than trimming to the correct length. Then I just washed it and trimmed the remaining material with large scissors so the channel fit over the glass and left a couple inches of mesh rising up. I used 3 seperate peices for my glass corner overflow. About an inch rose above the surface of the water so no one could "climb over the top". I also had a problem with my perc clowns going to sleep in the evening and getting washed over into the overflow. This solved that problem as well. Next time I am in Lowes I will look for it so I can tell you the name of the product. It worked like a charm.

I'm sorry to report that the Rose Anemone died over the weekend. I woke up Sunday to a very cloudy tank. I did a quick water change and everyone else is fine.
Thanks again to Cap Bay for hosting a GREAT meeting...
