tank update
well things have been going ok. I've lost three sps colonies due to a nitrate spike that i've already lowered back down by a water change and phosphate remover. My other corals are doing very well, dispite my three losses. I still have'nt added anything to my tank yet since the end of Janurary. I'm planning on adding a longnose hawk fish and purple corky sea finger gorgonion next weekend. I'm going to wait another month untill i had another sps, just to be safe. I know have the coralife super skimer (excelent skimer), and a power filter... just for better filteration. everything has been fine overall... and again, thanks to all who convinced me to stop adding things... they'd probally be dead now... i also dont really care about adding things now,i mean i want to, but i don't feel like, i need this and that.. at the same time... it's really helped.

tank is 75 gallons, nearly 175 pounds of LR, or 200, power filter is a marineland magnum 350- suites tanks upto 100 gallons...it has helped alot! Everyhting looks 150% better and everything is healing, and growing already... i'm looking forward to this next growth spert in my tank like i had last month.

I would hold off on any SPS for at least 6 months let your tank mature and get it stable water quality for any SPS must be stable when i say stable i mean 0 nitrates 0 phos a stable ph cal alk and temp with no swings after a few months of no problems try a couple of easy sps such as digitatas or a green slimer go for small frags and see how they do don't buy a large colony they are much more demanding in terms of water quality flow and lighting that also means no more fish just let it ride

my tank is doing very well still, i added my first fish yesterday, i was planning on adding a longnose hawk, but unfortunately the one i had my eye on died, so i got a male maldives lyrtail anthias. He looks very healthy, and is eating mysis shrimp, and is getting along well with the chromis! I plan on getting 2 more (different) kinds of anthias, a clownfish pair, and still the longnose hawk. I'm still skeptical on adding a tang since i may put mangroves in my tank, but i guess as i add fish i'll see what happens.

Try to QT your fish if you can.
The longer you QT the fish the safer it is for your tank.

Ross, be careful mixing Anthias, even if they are of different species. You may run into problems with aggression in such a small tank, but introducing them simultaneously would help reduce the risk.

Ross, I really like to hear that you have a QT setup. Given some time I think your tank is going to mature nicely, I am glad when we were harsh and blunt we didnt chase you away.
