Tank Raised Puffer?

Has anybody heard of tank raised puffers.
In particular a stars and stripes puffer.
I saw one in a store today and I have never seen one before.

Not aware of any puffers being tank raised. The closest thing might be a larval reared fish, where they collect planktonic larvae and rear it to see what pops out. They are usually more pelagic fish (ie tangs and bflies) never seen any puffers though.

I sure wish I could find out since I really only want tank raised fish and it is interesting

What you could do is ask the store what wholesaler they purchased it from. I am sure that some of the sponsors order from the same place and could tell you if the wholesaler does in fact have "tank-raised" puffers. I have never heard of such a thing, would be a first to me.
