Question

Tank Ideas needed.

Ok I used to have a 29 gallon marine tank aquarium that I sold a few months back when we moved. I'm not interested in getting back into setting up a marine fish tank, and would like some ideas. I would like to try to do either a seahorse tank, a jellyfish tank. or a clownfish anename tank. What size and shape tank could I do for a relatively good price. Also what would be the best tank setup I could get w/ the least amount of noise? Any help would be apreciated, and I would like to spend less then 300 to get it started preferribly 200 on tank and everything needed to get started. I.E. the filter.

Seahorses usually need a taller tank than longer tank. I believe that Eclipse makes a 37 gallon system, which would be good for seahorses. If you wanted to do anemones would for sure have to change the light, I don't no anything about jellyfish so I don't know what to tell you there. The Eclipse also comes in a 25 which is kinda tall. Both should be fairly cheap (cheaper than 300)

Hope it works out

For the budget you are proposing, an AGA 20 xh would work for seahorses, they fit the footprint of a 10 g and they are 24"tall. An Eclipse 1 hood fits on for filtration.

I know very little about jellies, but for anemones, you'd want some decent lighting, and for the size of tank that you'd need to accomodate anemones and their lighting, you'd probably be over budget.

All of the things you are proposing are very specialized. I'd recommend Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfishes and Host Anemones book or Frank Indiviglio's book on Seahorses, as well as Tracy Warland's book on seahorses.
