Tang fighting himself!

My Yellow Tang has decided to fight his reflection in the glass!

He has grown a lot in the past couple of months, and he looks very healthy. Is this normal? Do any of you have this happen? Is he just coming of age?

When he fights his reflection, he does so violently and scrapes at the glass with his spine thingys on his tail. He's doing it right now. He does it at least every other minute.

Should I be concerned that he will injure himself somehow?

He's doing it again LOL It looks extremely funny to me.

My kole sometimes does that, but that violently. Now my 6-line wrasse is another story. He gets all crazy at his reflection.
You might try adding a little more light in the room where the tank is to reduce the reflection inside the tank.
Just a thought.

There is a shiny reflector on one of the pH's in my tank and for the longest time my six line would hang out there all day going nuts attacking his reflections. My rusty angel did it too. Was real amusing...

My mandarin attacks and flashes at his reflection all the time. He's male...I guess that's what they do.

ok, I'll let him have his fun unless he injures himself. At least he's helping to scrape the glass!
