Sump Design HELP!!!!

OK, I have a few questions about sump design. Mostly in regards to flow in and out. I am looking to use possibly an MRC skimmer. For flow in and out of the sump do I ideally want bulkheads or anything on the sump? I am looking a sump for a 40 breeder, and I have never had a tank where I have had it drilled before. I dont want to set things up one way and wish I had done it dirrerent. I have 36 " of stand to work with here.

Is it best to have my skimmer running in the sump, or external? What are my options for plumbing it all together? I notice on My Reefs site in sumps they show a bulkhead internal, what is it's use?

Trying to build one sump once, and not have to remove it to drill it or anyting again in the future.

if Im thinking correctly... the "internal" bulkhead is going to the low flow refugium.

Personally I prefer to keep my skimmer external (especially my MRC)

I chose to drill holes for my pumps... Im running a pair of GenX 55s (one to skimmer, one to retrun) The closest pump is in the same chamber as the overflows and the other one is after the baffles (to retrun)
