Question

Suggested cleaner package?

I have a 1.5 month old 46-Gal FOWLR tank with the following:
- 2 YellowTail Damsels
- 2 Ocellaris CLowns
- 3 Blue Green Chromis
- 1 Yellowheaded Sleeper Gobie
- 1.5" - 2" Aragolife sand bed
- ~25 lbs LR
- 96w blue actinic, with a 96W PC (Aqualife)

I am in the process of switching over from a hang-on power filter to a 10-gal homemade wet/dry running about 300 gph.

The tank will be primarily fish, with an anenome for the clowns and maybe a Xenia for show.

I would like to add a cleaning crew to help keep down things like diatom and algaes, plus keep the sand stirred up (though the Gobie is woking on the top layer!). The only thing I am seeing so far is a dirty looking brown film on the glass, which I am guessing to be a diatom of sorts.

Any suggestions on how many of what to add?

Hey I am in the same boat as you since I have a 38 gallon. Really can't give you recommendations, but my clean up crew is as follows:

2 Mexican Turbos (AWESOME algae eaters)
12 Nassarius snails (for the sand)
18 Blue legs
2 cleaner shrimp
3 peppermint shrimp

After I added these guys, my tank cleared up alot. My sand bed went from being brown in some spots to sugar white. It's pretty much up to you, but I hope this helps a little.

Check these three places they will also give you good advice based up the info you give them- Size, livestock, Live sand or not.
They all play in.

You can only email them. But the other two can be called and they will help.
