storing aqnd preparing make up saltwater

Folks I use a RO set up with a float to top off my aquarium automatically.

I divert RO to a 35 vat that I mix with salt, heat, and aerate (sP). I hold this for water changes. My question is:

Is this the right way, meaning continue to aerate, use no light, etc. any thoughts?

I think you do a better job than most people. I aerate my change water in buckets, mix with salt and only when it is cold do I throw in a heater. However I do realitvily low water change. My new setup is in the works to use a 10 gal tank for top off (75 gal tank) to my sump, use a float valve in the sump and mix the chemicals in the top off tank.

I kept a 5 gallon jug of mixed water for 6 months before it finally started to grow algae... Your mileage will probably vary ^^;;
