the tooth above is from the almighty carcharodon megalodon, an extinct (or thought possibly not) predator that grew to goliath sizes possibly reaching seventy feet in maximum length. Newborn babies ranged from 8-12 feet in length. Their teeth range from 1/2inch to an extremely large and rare seven inches!
these next teeth are from Venice FL, where i will be diving this winter for teeth like these. The largest is 4 3/4 long, and the smallest is a huge mako tooth. Mako teeth rarely reach 3 inches long, this one is 2 3/4 long.

Here are teeth from the Morgan river in SC, the bottom tooth is from the carcharodon auriculatus, which is an ancestor to the megalodon.

the larger tooth (orange) is 5 1/4 inches long, a rare size now-a-days.
here are teeth from GEORGIA! The megalodon tooth is 4 1/2 inches long, and from the Ogeechee river, the mako is a huge 2 7/8 long and from the St.Marys river.

these smaller teeth are collected off the ground in Summerville, SC. The one on the left is a carcharodon angustidens, another shark in the evolution of the megalodon. The little gray tooth is a posterior tooth, which means it was one of the last teeth in the sharks jaw.

these are the most coveted and expensive teeth due to color. These are from the phosphate mines in central Florida, otherwise known as Bone Valley. Teeth rarely exceed 3 inches here, so that big gray one that is nearly 4" is a very rare tooth. This area used to be a bay that megalodons gave birth in, which is why the teeth are so small since it was all juvenile megalodons.

here are some teeth from rarer locations, the largest is 5 5/8 inches long, and from chile, the littlest tooth is a 1 7/8 long great white tooth from chile, and the other is extremely rare, this tooth was dredged from 1,000 foot deep water in new Caledonia. These teeth are not being dredged anymore and prices go up on these every year, good thing i found one! And this one is in extremely good condition compared to other teeth from here, most have no root, or heavy damage, this one is 98% complete!
