Solaris LED fixture

So Im going to take the plunge and buy on of these new led lighting fixtures for my tank. Its expensive but the cost effectiveness seems to justify it. Plus I really hate having my canopy opened.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Wow... How big is your tank?... I know the first units had some quality issues, solders breaking free and wires pulling out of connectors... Hopefully he's got that under control now... I wanted to go LED's, but it just wasn't feasable... It would have taken (2) 6' units for my 180gal... I don't think you can get more control over your lightinig than with one of these, let us know when you get it...

I saw a 500 watt one in action and it wasn't really all that bright... It had only been on there a week or so, but some of the sps weren't opening very well.

The tank it will be going on is my 140, currently I have 2-250 hqi's. From the reading Ive been doing they dont really seem that bright but they produce more PUR (photesenthitically usable radiation) than a 20k XM 250 lamp. The research sounds like it is a good investment and besides that cloud cover feature and not having to worry about any timers freakin rocks!

Here's my tank now:

Yah, well that's heresay for you... Anyways the amount of control this unit does give you is amazing. However, I think I'll wait to buy one until they become more main stream.
