Snakes???

i was just browsing around the net and a snake caught my eye...it was called the emerald tree boa. anyway i was amazed at its color, and thought it would be neat to try and keep one. I was just wondering who else out there was into this kinda stuff, as it seems really interesting getting into it....

Don't expect to handle it. They're mean as, well, a snake.

if u can train the snake to eat in a certain container, other than where it's housed, it wont strike u when u put your hand in its house to handle it.

i've had ball pythons, redtail boa's, King snakes and albino burns . Emeralds are very difficult snakes to keep , you may get lucky and get the perfect snake or you may get a nightmare .As far as holding it , don't count on it , what was said above is right they are very mean . And they are very hard to get to feed sometimes. If you do get one make sure its young(a few months old or younger) and ABSOLUTLY make sure its feeding . don't take their word for it , tell them you want to see it eat even if you have to pay for the mouse . one more thing . from what i've read about them they won't drink standing water , they have to be sprayed/misted at least every other day . If you do get it good luck

reef man is dead on, if you wanna pay a little extra, you can get a blue one. it is a color form where it is missing the yellow pigment. and yes, it really is blue, when the emeralds are young they are usually bright red or yellow. just a beautiful animal all around, but not a pet, just something to have.

I have a milk snake. I think snakes make great pets...well, the right kind of snake that is. They can be really easy to care for. My Scarlett is getting rather nasty though because I haven't handled her much lately.
