RO unit questions

Hey guys, thought I would look for some personal experiences here. For a FOWLR tank, is a RO or RODI filter necessary and if so, anyone have any recommendations as to type, brand, pricing. If it is not necessary can I simply run one of the canister style water purification systems. Any help would be great and suggestions would be great. I have seen some RO and RODI units on e-bay for decent prices...

I would use RODI. They don't cost all that much plus the pure water must be better for your tank. Plus, it removes chlorine from the water.

Several of the people on the site have used aquasafecanad on ebay.

I would think that you would want to use RO/DI water because it will decrease your algae problems by removing unwanted nutrients from the water.
