removing Kenya Tree from rock -- help

Here yee, here yee...

what is the best way to remove Kenya Tree from my large rock without killing or hurting it ? Some of them are fairly descent size too. I want to remove them from my rock but I dont want to kill them either. If anyone are interested in kenya tree, I have an abundance of it...small, medium, large.

Anyone has any extra cool frags that are willing to depart with?

Where can I get some super glue gel to attached my frag on my rock?

David

PS: BOB, the xenya are doing very well..thanks a million. I will try to get some pictures up this weekend.

David,

I've moved Kenya frags by using a sharp razor blade (cut at an angle) near the base. I've then used epoxy to put them on a new rock. As for complete removal, though, I've never tried, but I'm sure there are some experts out there!

You can get some of the really thick super glue at a hobby shop (the ones that sell RC planes, etc.) Chris (mojo) can probably tell you more specifically where they are in ATL.

Good luck!

you cn find a gel super glue anywhere really, like cvs or walgrees. As far as fraggin goes, just like maureen said, cut it with a razor blade at base for the whole thing, or cut some branches off, they will shrink a lil, but they will grow back right fast. Anothe way of putting them on a piece of rubble or LR, is stick a toothpick thu the base of the softy and use rubber band s to hold each end of the tooth pick to a rock. Or just glu it, but remember to buy the GEL, regular thin glu doesnt work.

Remove and scrub the rock, or it will grow back.

Also if your looking for frags, tell us a bit about your setup. Lights etc.

Thank you for all the feedback and advice...I will try that. I have a 90 gal. tank with an Aqualight Pro HQI Fixture that consist of 1 - 150 Watt 10K HQI light, 2 10K 65 W actinic blue, and 2 lunar light. I originally have the tank up since mid 2004. Unfortunately, my house AC went out last year while I was out of town and too broke to afford a chiller. You guys can figure out the rest of my painfull and very costly lesson. Luckly, I would say 5% survived Not a total lost. My tank is being running smoothly since Mid June of 2005 now, and things are growing exponentially. I now many too many of the following: Kenya Tree, purple mushroom, yellow polyps, orane zoanthis (I think that's what they are called).

I also have:
- a green brain, and 2 more brains are being born...kind of (dont know how to chip that off)...if someone wants to give me a nice flat piece of rock...he can have mine with the green brain frag on it.
- a coco warm
- and 3 very healthy xenia compliment of bob this weekend...very nice guy
- Some cool looking corals that I have no clue what they are called (newbies) I will try to get their name. The guy from Cap. bay told me once and I cant remember. Some complicated and long name...sorry. they kind of look like a sun coral but they are not

As for fishes:
- 3 green chromis
- 1 flame angel
- 1 wrass
- 1 perc. (everyone got to have a nemo :P )

Cant forget about the cleaner shrimp and the assemble cleaning crews (hermits and turbo snails)

Why are they called turbo snails? How ironic
