It is very sad... I was just at the Aquarium today, and many of the employees seemed down due to the recent events.

But they all do SO much for all of the animals that one cannot get discouraged by the losses. The other whale sharks (and belugas) are doing well, and if any aquatic life can survive in captivity, it will certainly be at the GA Aquarium, where all the animals receive the utmost of care.

I worked the aqaurium today It's not all gloom and doom..

Remember this, 1000's of whale sharks are killed every year for food and nobody bats an eyelash for them. Atlanta looses ONE whale shark and it is front page news around the WORLD!! I would say the Ralph was a GREAT Ambassador of the the Whale Sharks and has done the species proud...He has brought the Whale Shark into the living room of everyone and has brought awareness of their plight to millions....

So be sad, but be really happy as well. Remember he was scheduled to be sushi over 2 years ago, so he has made BIG impact on the world in a short amount of time!!

Norton Trixie and Alice will carry on the mission for him.

Todd
