Raising Rotifers

Is anyone actively raising rotifers in the area or is there anywhere I can buy a starter culture locally?
I am having a time raising Reidy fry since newly hatched artemia are still too big for them to swallow. They make it to 7 days and then seem to either choke or starve. I am also trying to get a hatch of gold band maroon clowns to live. With another batch of eggs on the rock now. Any info on where to get the supplies would be appreciated.

you may try www.aquaticeco.com and put rotifier in the search, it comes up with a bit.
hope it helps. otherwise i'm clueless on it. I was interested few months ago, when i was looking into getting something that had to have rotifiers for their diet. Decided not to do it.
Good luck with the breeding!!!

autochek,

I considered it a few months ago but backed out. I have a constant mating pair of orchid dottybacks and considered attempting to raise the fry but backed out. I went back to work full time and there's no way I could do it now. I did alot of research though and here's a source for the rotifers and food for them. Let us know what you decide to do.

I don't anymore but when I was in DFW I had a culture going for 2 years straight. It's extremely easy to do. I got resting rotifers from florida aqua farms. In my opinion it's easier then raising phyto which is pretty darn easy!

Thanks everyone for the input and advise.Looks like I'm gonna have no choice but to mail order them in. I will try to keep them going in case anyone else need some in the future.I have done alot of reading about them and it does sound easy. The only thing is the amount of room I will need if this really takes off. Sounds like I'm gonna have a dedicated breeding room in the house.
