Question about Membership

Hi I have a quick Question I am filling out the form to mail in and I know it is $20 Per person so if I put My wife down as Spouse does that mean I have to send in $40 dollars?

I just want to make sure I am understanding this right and send the correct amount

According to Section 8 of the bylaws (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/bylaws.html) , it looks like it's $20 for you and $5 for an additional card 'for use by immediate family'.

I'll let one of the more authoritative members confirm that but I believe that's the case.

Rob is basically correct.

It's 20 for a regular membership. That entitles you to all rights and privilages including voting on amendments and at election time.

You can buy extra membership cards for use by immediate family at 5.00 per card. The extra cards comes with all rights and privilages except voting.

If your wife wants to be able to vote she would need to purchase her own 20 regular membership.

If voting for her is not an issue then the 5.00 extra card is all she would need.

So I think basically you are probably looking at 25.00 and would be issued two cards but only one card can vote.

Did that clear it up or make it more confussing.

Just to add more confusion..... The second card isn't neccessary. She can still come to the meetings as can anyone weather they're a member or not. The only purpose the card would serve is to allow her the 10% discount at the sponsor stores but if she's inclined to reef shop she could get that with your card.

We will have guest speakers later in the year and there will be some monetary benefit to being a card carrying member for those events.
