Popeyed Yellow Tang

Hi Everyone,

I have a yellow tang which i introduced to my 125 reef tank this past Sunday. In the tank are a powder brown tang and a maroon clown. When i added the yellow tang on Sunday, the powder brown was harassing the yellow tang a great deal. By Monday, it wasn't so bad and the yellow tang was eating and acting fine. Well...this morning as soon as the lights came on i noticed the yellow tangs eyes were popping out and the fish is not swimming around but instead remianing in one particular location within the tank.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to what i should do?

I've heard that cyanobacteria can cause popeye

Is the yellow tang still eating? If so, you may want to soak the food in vitamins and offer algae sheets on clips.

I thought popeye was caused from a damage to the eye. I've had fish get better on their own as long as they were healthy and still eating. Otherwise, you may need to quarantine with medication.
