Please help Katrina's pets

I am posting this for a friend, Isabel Musial, who runs strayatlanta.org. She will be going down this Saturday to deliver supplies and help the pets who were separated from their families during this tragedy. She can be reached at:
Isabel Musial
Stray Atlanta
www.strayatlanta.org
404.622.0217 (h)
404.409.7159 (c)
404.745.0067 (f)

Among some of the things they will need are:
food
pedialite (for dehydration)
blankets
leashes
collars
crates
toys
and, of course, monetary donations help out as well.

Everyone here has an appreciation for the pets in our lives. They need help, too.

Dear All,

My name is John Hunt, I live in Atlanta and am personally coordinating to send
much needed Animal Rescue supplies to New Orleans on Saturday 9/10/05.

1) Best Friends Animal Society and Lifeline
Animal Project in Atlanta are conducting emergency
relief and rescue efforts in Tylertown LA which is about 100 miles north of New
Orleans. They are being inundated with pets of all types in dire need of help.

Food supplies a few days ago were less than 24 hours. They have a well but no
electricity to pump water. They do have the basic facilities and volunteers to
operate a sanctuary and to conduct rescue/relocations, however they very much
need donation of supplies and/or money.

Best Friendıs Director of Operations, Paul Berry, along with volunteers from
Atlanta (staff from Lifeline Animal Project) and other cities are now in metro
New Orleans working with Jefferson Parish Animal Control and other agencies.

2) Noah's Wish is a rescue group that activates in
times of natural disasters, and they are mobilizing north of Baton Rouge
- they as well have temporary shelters and are receiving animals from the LA
state wildlife and veterinarian agencies.

Both groups are in a position to accept any and all offers of help, and I am
taking it on board to do what I can. Please see the attached list * if any
donations are possible, please fill out the Needs List and the Response Form and
fax both to me at 404-228-0506. My phone is 404-228-0503.

I need to have all supplies delivered and/or picked up by 5pm Friday 9/9/05, as
we are loading up and driving down at first light on Saturday 9/10/05.

While this first truck is most URGENT, we will be working again to send another
truck next week. NOTE - there may be a different staging area/address for next
week, please bring to the current address for this week only and wait for future
emails for next week and forward. So if you can bring by Friday 9/9/05 then
great, if not, please hold for next week and further information.

Please find a couple hours to pull out stuff from your garage and/or purchases
from pet stores and hardware stores. You can bring to us or we will pick up
from you (will pick up only if you have too much for your own car..).

Please note that all donations are tax deductible. Financial donations can be
made on-line at the respective web site's, or we can also take cash from here.
Receipts will be available for all donations, and formal 501c3 receipts issued
from Lifeline Animal Project, Best Friends or Noah's Wish will be prepared
accordingly in the future for your 2005 taxes.

Please call with any questions.

Thank you!!!
John Hunt
