yeah no kidding, Except I dont think it would be a good idea for them to be together. Kong is so big, he would probably eat or kill the nurse! lol
Kong acually came out of ricky ford's 600gal. My buddy mike saw kong in the tank at one time. As far as i know, it ate some other 6-7in. fish

I just hope your new fish is a more responsible purchase than the nurse shark was....

Yea something like a baby great white would look nice in a 400 gallon system. Maybe you could get a school of them.

It's been explored. They don't want to be the final resting place for people's poor choices in fish purchases. I don't blame them and it's a good policy for the hobby, if not for this particular fish.

What it really comes down to is that vendors should stop selling these fish so that people can't buy them, knowingly or not. I like the guys at Marine Fish, but I have to say I'm disappointed that they would take this fish on consignment or trade. They are no better equiped to care for this fish than a private individual and there's bound to be someone in Atlanta with more $$$ than sense that will buy it.

Just so eveyone knows, it is extraordinarily unlikely that ANY zoological institution accept animals from the private sector. Most animals that are in zoos that have come from the public have likely been illegal abandonments at the zoos. I used to work at a zoo in New York (and work in another here in GA), and I cannot tell you how many people were turned away with boas, iguanas, alligators, venomous snakes, wild native animals, etc. This practice of taking in animals that people can no longer care for or no longer want is unethical, and actually contributes to the same behavior continuing.
Do not waste your time or the zoos or aquariums time by inquiring to see if they will take your unwanted pet. As Mojo said, do research and buy ethically.
