Dear Members,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Effective immediately I am ceasing operations for NGaReef.com.
Over the past few months many major life events have taken place. Some with which you were aware, and some that you were not. The most serious of these events dealt with my mother. We had a very scary and tiresome time from August through the latter part of October and came very close to losing her.
Through the recent events I must admit that my eyes were opened and I saw just how busy I had allowed myself to become and how little time I was willing to spend with those who love and care for me. My life was so consumed by my job, my website design freelancing and NGaReef that I pushed aside the people who were close to me because I felt that I had no free time to spare.
The turning point occurred when I had to watch my mother roll out of a hospital room with tears in her eyes and fear in her heart as she was being taken away for heart surgery. As she was rolling by me, she reached out and hugged me and said, “you are my baby and you I love you so much”. You cannot imagine what a change that made in me in a split-second.
I realize now how special life is and every day must be cherished and lived to it’s fullest. Simply put, it is time to slow down. That is the number one reason for my decision to cease operations of NGaReef.com. It is not because of anyone else, that I can assure you. The ARC, ASMAS, member of these clubs and everyone else who I have had the privilege to speak to and gotten to know have been so unbelievably great to deal with that I could not ask for anything more and for that I say THANK YOU. As for me, I do plan to remain in the hobby and will support the clubs. Who knows, I may even get another tank now that I have some free-time.
There are a few people that I would like to personally say THANK YOU too publicly. These people have been so great to me and have worked and helped me during some very tedious times. To Susan Knarich, what would I have done without you? You looked after everything so many times while I was out. Gabe, you bug those hands right into that saltwater and bagged many a crab. Warren, Hal and Rodney, thanks for the support. Jeff, Bobby and Deb at CappBay, thanks so much for all of the advice. Dale, you got me started and what a journey, although short, that it has been. And finally to each and every one of you who have supported me and this biz, I truly appreciate it.
Now, I know you are wondering!! As for NGaReef. I am taking offers from seriously interested parties that would like to take over the business and keep it going. The business sale would include all equipment, suppliers and contact information and the website. In the event there is no serious interest in a full business purchase, I will then part out equipment and offer it for sale at a later date. If you are interested in making an offer for the business, please email me and I will forward you a list of what is included and move forward form that point.
Lastly, there are three individuals that I will be contacting who still have partial orders that will be fulfilled or refunded. Those individuals are: Cesar Barria, Michael Ufret and David Trombly. I will be in contact with each of you via email over the next week to make final arrangements for each of your orders.
Should anyone have any questions, please email me at
kevin.holder@ngareef.com.
Again, THANK YOU for allowing me the opportunity to be part of this great hobby.
Sincerely,
Kevin Holder
