In case anyone was not at the February meeting or did not otherwise hear the announcement, in 2005 we started a new program with our sponsor stores. Anyone who is new to the club (never before a member) and buys a tank setup (even a nano) has the opportunity to receive a free 2005 membership.

So, if you are not a member (and never have been), and If you buy a tank setup from one of ARC's sponsor stores this year, ask for your free ARC 2005 membership form.

Part of ARC's mission is responsible reefkeeping. Currently, the number of people who drop the hobby within the first year is staggering. Thus, through the first year free membership, we are trying to bring the number of hobbyists who stay in the hobby over a year to more respectable levels through the support our members give and the knowledge our meetings provide.

So, for you folks just getting into the hobby, there simply is no reason not to join!
