New Algae

You've all been helpful with my outbreak of brown algae, and it appears to be improving. Now it looks like I've got coraline algae growing on my glass. At least that what I think it is, its purple.

If that is what it is, and since I don't want to scrape it off the glass, do I just let the brown algae, and the green, just die a natural death and eventually disappear, or do I sacrifice the coraline to rid myself of the brown?

for some reason the front glass is always where the coraline starts to grow.

I would scrape it off. If it's growing there it will grow elsewhere given enough time. Also when you scrape it off the little spores (or whatever) tend to spread around to other parts of the tank.

If you wait to long you won't be able to get it off w/ a magnet scrubbie you'll need to use a razor blade or equivilent.

I end up using a magnet scrapper every couple of days but still have to use a razor blade every two or three weeks in order to get the coraline off.
