Question

Need LFS Selling Joe's Juice for Majano Anemones

I have the potential for an outbreak of Majano Anemones in my big tank. Can anyone tell me an LFS in the Metro Atlanta location that carries and sells Joe's Juice?

Also, if there are any other good "home grown" remidies for these pests, please let me know.

Jay

JennM used to have it at Imagine Ocean. You may want to call first since you are pretty far away.

Another thought. I have been told that Lemon Juice does the same thing. Never tried it but worth a shot. I have always had Joe's around.

Either lemon juice of super-strength Kalk paste, injected with a hypo needle, should do the job.

If you really want the Joe's Juice, you can get a bottle online with free shipping on your first order: www.joesjuice.com, but the other suggestions might do the trick!

when injecting the anemones are you supposed to use a syringe with a needle? if so where is the best place to pick one of these up?

Baby Medicine Syringe

I have had success using a syringe without a needle - just the plastic point getting close to the mouth of the offending animal. You can get these at your local drug store (as the pharmacy desk or look in the baby section)

I'll probably do this to get a couple more spare bottles. This stuff appears to work as advertized.

Went up to Marine Fish today and got their last two bottles of Joe's Juice. Came home and pasted the little SOB's with it. They shriveled like saran wrap in a furnace!!!! A few of them did pull back into a hole they were in (I probably touched them with the tip), but I just jammed the syringe into them and squeezed. Hey, I don't care HOW it get's into them.

Summary, 30 minutes later I had no majano's anywhere I had pasted one. I'll see if they are back in the morning. One or two were beginning to get large so they may need a second hit. I'll keep you posted.
