Nano SIG meeting/workshop

I would like to thank everyone that came out for the nano SIG meeting and workshop. Especially Charles for all the work he put into the workshop. Several people now have blue and red LED lights in their tanks for a little over $20. The workshop was very educational. Thanks to all that attended.

Awesome workshop. This was a pure DIY workshop. Hands on and every hood presented new problems to overcome. I think Charles did an awesome job of researching and building the subassemblies. I believe Sammy and Bob took some pictures there of the assembly and and we came out with some awesome looking lighting fixtures. (maybe get green and red ones for the holidays?, joking) I am definatly glad to have made this SIG meeting and Rick thanks for all the hospitality.

I wish I had taken more pictures. Especially pics of all the lights working. Everyone's lights worked on the first try. Charles had several charts he made up explaining the process.

I did have a blast doing the workshop and was glad everyone got a chance to get a moonlight setup on their Nano.

We'll have to add the red LED viewing light sometime in the near future. And maybe a Nano sized auto top-off I've been considering doing as a DIY workshop --- lots of good stuff for the future.

Within a week or two we should have a nice web page w/ some photo's and a few paragraphs of everything that went on at this meeting. For everyone who missed it --- well --- no need to say anything.

The real question was how did the moonlighting look over your tank. I know a few were setup in canopies that wern't going to be immediatly put on a Nano ------------- BUT

Maria how does yours look. I know you have a fairly deep tank and your lights sit a little off the top so I was wondering how good of a spead did you get?? Did you have to reposition the LED's any ?? And lastly does the light reach the sand OK ??? Give the full working details.

Maria's setup came out really nice because everything tucked up inside the canopy behind the reflector or in the end caps --- almost made it look like they came that way from the factory.
