My Full Tanks Shot - World Premiere!

Never before seen on the internet - a pic of my whole tank!
It's a 72G bowfront, started june '04 with uncured rock and terrible sand. Here it is after replacing some of the sand. Everything is DIY too.

DIY metal halides 2X175W with 10000K bulbs
$40 for both ballasts
$70 for both bulbs

The hood is DIY, pyramid shaped, and is supported by 1" PVC painted black. I'm replacing the hood with a better one, and I'm adding DIY VHO actinics - 2 X 110W - and I'm swapping the right hand 175W for a 250W. I ran across a 250W ballast for $25 and I just couldn't resist

See lighting costs above and other costs below

More info:
50lbs uncured hatian rock
60lbs fiji from www.atlantaaquaria.com
~$390

Southdown sand = free (Original sand was an ebay gone bad )

The sump/fuge is about 24G DIY ($40?), skimmer is 4' DIY PVC ($40?)(upgrading now to a better DIY one). Return pump is a CA4000 - $35. Heater was $15. I have two of those oscillating power heads, ~$25 at petco.

The heater just broke (accidently ran it dry) and the pump is going to be replaced by an external soon.
