might have killed my rodi?

I was upgrading my Kent HI-S RO/DI with a flush valve today and after doing a leak check I started to fill my gallon jugs. unfortunately the first 3/4 of a gallon of product water was made with only hot water running through the unit. I have my washing machine water supply valves "Y"ed off to allow both hot and cold water to mix together before entering the RO/DI. I did not have my valves in the Y opened correctly and sent hot water only through the RO/DI before I noticed what I did. Assuming a 4 to 1 ratio I assume about 5 gallon of hot water went through the system. plastic tubing was definately warm to the touch. last canister was fogged up inside. I believe this system has a TFC membrane. other than using a TDS meter to check product water, would I know if I ruined the membrane or did I dodge a bullet?

TDS still reads 0 after 3 gallons of water produced so I assume membrane is fine.

One thing that might save you is that the water passes through the unit so slowly that there's a good chance the water cooled before reaching the unit.

i believe warm water passes thru the membrane faster...i dont think warm or hot water will damage the membrane

so far the TDS meter reads 0 so I guess its ok. It was for a short period of time and I switched on the cold water when I realized what was happening and that pulled the heat out of the unit. water from the hot water heater could have been 120 degrees F so I guess that continuous running at that temp could be bad but for the short period of time I ran it there was no damage. luckily I was making sure that the new connections for the flush loop were not leaking and I felt the warm tubing. Just glad I dont have to pay for a new membrane.
