how long will this (or future) votes be open for participation? what keeps non club members from voting in this test (therefore throwing off the result)? I know this is just a participation test but keep my points in mind.

One question. Does the voting need to be done in person or can we do it via a poll? Technically I guess that's two questions.
Cheers...Michael

This is my opinion only, It should be done in person for two reasons.
1, people who do not attend a meeting should not make policy over the ones who do.
2, Just to insure that it is truely you doing the voting.

Absentie votes in presidental elections, to strech a point, count as much as ones cast in ballot boxes. And IP logging and use of cookies should cut down on fraudulent votes. It is a valid concern though.
Cheers...Michael

I do fully understand this is just an information poll but -----
Regardless of the outcome of this poll --- the ARC can not at this time accept an electronic poll as a means for casting a vote regarding amendments to the Const/By-laws. Doing so would be in direct conflict with those documents.
Somebody would need to write an amendment to change the By-laws allowing on-line voting. We as a club have discussed this in the past just nobody has written the proper amendment.
Everyone concerned needs to go to the members only forum and read the "MUST READ" post concerning amendments.
Once again I understand this is a information only poll --- does everyone else understand all this ???

Can't we use the ARC website for voting? The mechanism is already in place on the website for members to login, which I think is a much more trustworthy way to keep voting access to members only. I guess the bylaws will still need to be modified to allow for this type of electronic voting as well. Just a thought...

so on the poll for buying the dvd you can look and see the "roll call' of how people voted. on this one the individual votes are not exposed. I guess this is a selection that would be made by the poster of the poll? Guess that would have to be defined in the amendment, which type of results to use.
