Wow! The meeting is only a few days away! Keep in mind that everyone who attends the meeting will receive five raffle tickets. There will be a drawing using these tickets, towards free stuff like cleaner shrimp, clams, reef fish and corals.....There will be five boxes, each labeled with one prize item.,..Place one to five ticket stubs in which ever box or boxes you choose ..................... then after the official meeting stuff.....we will be having a drawing and be giving away lots of free stuff ............Seachem will also be giving samples of their fine product as well as speaking about whats new at Seachem !!! ............................Also trading and selling of frags is fine ,... Our parking lot is huge ,so bring as many as you wish................but keep club trading outside of the store to avoid confusion........by our staff . Kalkbreath

I spoke w/ Bobby from CBA today. Frag trading will be allowed at this meeting.

As always when meetings are at a LFS --- FREE TRADES ONLY --- please no direct frag sales at this meeting.

Charles....

I don't mean to question anyone, but 2-3 posts above. CBA said.

"Also trading and selling of frags is fine ,... Our parking lot is huge ,so bring as many as you wish................but keep club trading outside of the store to avoid confusion"

Hmmmm ---- I'm not sure Bobby is the one who posted that. I spoke with him and posted before I saw that.

I do believe as a club we do want to keep frags to free trades only while a meeting is at a LFS. That policy has worked well for ARC in the past and should keep us from having any misunderstandings with LFS now and in the future.

Bobby didn't mention anything about keeping it in the parking lot. So i can't really comment on that part of it.

We have never had any problems with confussing zip-locks for fish baggies in the past. I usually get to the meetings before most everyone else and will make sure there are no problems. Either way bring your frags --- they do have a big parking lot.

I plan on joining the club at this meeting. Will I still be able to get in on all the cool stuff or do I need to find a way to join before Tuesday.

I am "assuming" that was Jeff that posted....but since CBA said in the thread sales were fine in the parking lot, I would say go with that...if CBA wants to clarify their position on this thread, that would be great!

CBA just called me at home in order to clarify a few items about the meeting.

Frag trades at the meeting are acceptable. The frags may be brought into the store. There is no need to do this in the parking lot.

As with all LFS please no direct frag sales at this meeting. Free trades only. This has been an unofficial policy and seems in the best interest of both the LFS holding the meeting and the ARC.

The ARC (or it's individual members) in no way wants to be in any type of competition w/ LFS. We strive to compliment them and in turn they strive to support the club in many different ways. Bring your frags in and trade all you want but please lets respect the LFS and the business they are in w/ no direct frag sales.

As for the raffle --- This is another one of the great benefits of being a member in good standing. The LFS attempt to help the club out in many different ways and CBA having a raffle is one of those ways. Please note this raffle is a door prize style raffle and no raffle tickets will be for sale. Also raffle tickets will be given out to members in good standing only as a benefit of being a member.

Anyone not currently a member in good standing can purchase a membership at the beginning of the meeting and receive raffle tickets. Most members who signed up at the beginning of the year have already received more benefits than the membership cost and this is only the 3rd month of the year.

I'm sorry for all the confusion about these two items. After talking w/ CBA they asked me to post this clarification so there would be no misunderstandings.

Charles
